Of course I am writing about Spicers Hidden Vale, 12000 acres of true Australian bush abundant with our native flora and fauna.
My first visit to Spicers Hidden Vale was to conduct a wedding for my gorgeous Brisbane couple Nadine and Michael and I quickly discovered why Spicers Hidden Vale is one of Queensland's most popular wedding destinations.
An easy drive of 1 hour ten from Brisbane, especially easy for me as I was chauffeured by my roadie/husband and if you are coming from Toowoomba its an hour away.
This picturesque wedding retreat truly lives up to its name - hidden from all the hustle and bustle of city life. From the moment you drive in to Spicers Hidden Vale, you relax breathing in all that fresh air with only the sounds of nature, any stress you packed just melting away.
What I particularly noticed was how friendly the staff were and the wedding coordinator always on hand taking care of my Bridal couple, their guests, even the celebrant and roadie. They were so accommodating it felt like we were the Bride and Groom (just 30 years too late).
There are numerous ceremony options and my couple chose the exclusive Garden Ceremony complete with signing table under a magnificent tree, chairs for their guests and a stunning backdrop of rolling hills and bushland. As my couple recited their very emotional yet funny vows, not a sound could be heard but their teary voices and the birds chirping. It truly is the quietness of this place that adds to the romance of the wedding ceremony.
Spicers Hidden Value is a wedding photographer's dream with so many opportunities to capture those memorable wedding photos. And once the sun drops, there are several reception rooms for you and your guests to dine, being indulged with delicious paddock to plate meals, accompanied by both Australian and international wines.
After dancing the night away, guests strolled back to their luxurious accommodation, no need to call an Uber or taxi.
My Bridal Couple had nothing but praise for this outstanding wedding venue and personally I cannot wait to return.
